Redmond Pet Care, a Premium Pet Care and House
Sitting Service, is
owned and operated by Ron and Roberta Shirley of
Redmond, Oregon.
Roberta, a life-long animal lover, was born in Bend
and has lived in the Bend/Redmond area most of her life.
Her grandparents, Mahlon and Mary Couch, were ranchers
in Tumalo and raised their seven children there.
Couch Market Road is named after them. Roberta had
been a pet sitter and house sitter during her 20 year
tenure at the Home
Health Department of St. Charles Medical Center. She enjoys hiking,
snowshoeing, and participating in walking events such as
the Relay For Life, Heaven Can Wait, Race For The Cure,
Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis, Jingle Bell Run/Walk,
and St. Thomas Academy's Polar Bear Run/Walk.
Roberta has done several half marathons including the
Happy Girls Half, Smith Rock Sunrise Summer Classic,
Portland Half Marathon and Pacific Crest Marathon.
She is a member of Redmond Oregon Running Klub, as a
walker. She also enjoys volunteering at The Humane
Society of Redmond.
Ron, born and raised in San Francisco, is also a
life-long animal lover. He worked as an Assistant
Golf Pro before becoming an Executive Chef. He is
Marriott and California Culinary Academy trained. Ron spent 28 years in the Lake Tahoe area operating
restaurants at upscale golf resorts and a European style
hiking and fishing lodge. Ron moved to Bend in
2000 and enjoys skiing, golf, hiking, and
snowshoeing.
Ron and Roberta met in 2002 at the Caregivers Support
Meetings at St. Charles Medical Center and were married
in January 2006. They have four cats and an
Australian Shepherd named Darwin. |
